Vision 2036

Where We Are Going

Vision 2036 is our long-term strategic direction. A ten-year commitment to building a global ecosystem where sport drives opportunity, leadership and lasting impact.

The Vision

Our Ten-Year Vision

By 2036, NYSA will be a thriving global ecosystem where sport drives innovation, opportunity and impact, empowering athletes, communities and organisations to shape a better world.

We are building towards this vision through three interconnected aspirations: thought leadership, community, and programme and activity delivery. Together, these form the foundation of everything we do.

Strategic Priorities

Five Strategic Priorities

NYSA's ten-year strategy is guided by five priorities. These are not distant ambitions. They are the areas we are already actively building, and where we are making progress today.

  1. 1

Building a Globally Coherent, Locally Rooted Culture

We are growing a values-led ecosystem where people thrive and young people are safe, across every hub, project and partnership.

  2. 2

Growing a Global Network of Centres of Excellence

We are developing regional hubs that deliver athlete services, education, social impact and research in ways that are locally relevant and globally connected, working towards a network of 5 to 10.

  3. 3

Delivering Youth and Athlete Development at Scale

We are already delivering safe, inclusive, wellbeing-centred programmes that create real and lasting change for young people and athletes, and scaling their reach.

  4. 4

Becoming a Global Learning, Research and Innovation Organisation

We are deepening our role as a thought leader through evidence, publications, innovation labs and policy engagement, with active EU research projects already underway.

  5. 5

Building a Sustainable, Agile and Collaborative Organisation

We are strengthening our leadership, diversifying our funding and developing agile ways of working that scale without compromising quality or culture.

Strategic Vision

NYSA envisions a future where integrated excellence in athlete development, research, education and social entrepreneurship inspires transformative change, establishing NYSA as a global leader in sport innovation and social impact.

Our mission is rooted in co-creation. Young people, practitioners, researchers and communities work together to build environments and solutions for a future where all young people can thrive and lead, powered by sport.

Future Direction

The Next Ten Years

The next decade will be defined by deepened global presence, values-driven partnerships, community-led localisation, a strong culture, and evidence-based decision-making.

By 2036, NYSA will have:

  1. A global network of 5–10 Centres of Excellence across Europe, Africa and Asia

  2. A globally recognised dual-career pathway model embedded in universities, clubs and national sport systems

  3. 50,000 young people engaged through social impact programmes

  4. 20+ research publications and an active global research agenda

  5. A fully operational NYSA Academy with 30+ modules and 5,000 practitioners trained
