NYSA Sweden Leadership Update
Next steps for our Founder
We would like to share an important leadership update at NYSA Sweden.
Our Founder, Owen Southgate, will be taking a 12-month sabbatical from 1 April 2026. This period will provide an opportunity for reflection and renewed perspective, supporting both personal and long-term strategic development.
Since founding NYSA Sweden, Owen has played a central role in shaping the organisation’s vision, growth, and impact. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing strong partnerships across Europe and delivering meaningful work aligned with our mission. We extend our sincere thanks for his continued dedication, commitment, and contribution over the years.
Reflecting on this next chapter, Owen Southgate said:
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built at NYSA Sweden and the strength of the team in place today. I have complete trust in Emma, Lucy, Chris, and the wider team to continue leading the organisation forward, and I’m excited about what the future holds for NYSA both locally and globally.”
We wish Owen all the very best for the year ahead and look forward to welcoming him back following his sabbatical.
During this period, Emma Cotterill continues in her role as CEO, providing consistent leadership and strategic direction for the organisation. NYSA Sweden remains in a strong position, supported by an experienced leadership team and a clear focus on delivering ongoing projects and partnerships.
Day-to-day operations will continue as previous, with Lucy Southgate, COO and EU Project Manager, overseeing operational execution and ensuring continuity across all areas of work.
Our commitment to our mission and to our partners remains unchanged. We look forward to continuing our work across Europe and building on the strong foundations already in place.
